We are the Hulets - second generation proprietors of a splendid cabin "hide-a-way" along the Boardman River. The property was purchased by my father & his wife, Bruce & Renee Hulet, in 1997. The property was enjoyed by many and improved during those years until my father's passing in spring of 2018. My wife & I purchased the family cabin in the summer of 2019 and created a place to share, "Shadowland River Lodge". We are forging our own chapter here among this historic cabin , the Boardman River, and the ever swaying poplar trees that surround the property, not to forget the mighty White Pines. (The name "Shadowland" is carried over from my grand parents restaurant/bar "Shadowland Lounge" which was operated from the 1930s to 1981 and was located near where the NMC/Dennos Museum is now in Traverse City.)
THE SHADOWLAND RIVER LODGE
It is now our turn to hold the torch, steady the course, and continue the families Boardman River haven. We have our own plans for future improvements and possibilities. While the cabin has two bedrooms, one in the main cabin and one upper loft with exterior entrance, ( a great hide-a-way for the teens!) we plan to include a bunk house with more room for sleeping accommodations. Possibilities include sleeping for an additinal 4-6 and a sitting area w/ TV.
We are also researching the possibility of a Hop Farm on the adjacent 20 acres across Brown Bridge Road.
